What is being shown in each motorcycle page

Title: brand, model, version and years. If it’s a current model, it shows the launch year and a plus symbol: (2024+). If it’s discontinued, it shows launch year and last yeas sold: (2021-2024).

Relevant details are shown then, like differences between countries and small changes that don’t require a new page.

Pictures: main picture is the Size Estimator, with the grid showing size and ergonomics. Then it usually shows front and back perspective and dashboard, trying to use the stock model when possible. After that, other relevant pictures with relevant details when available.

Here’s an explanation of each field in the specs table:

EngineSize, type, cooling
PowerMax horsepower @ revolutions per minute
Power to weight (HP/100Kg)Horsepower divided by weight, per 100 kilograms. It started without the 100 kg bit, but we got fractions and it sounds easier to imagine the HP that could carry 100 kg instead of 1 kg.
TorqueMax torque in Nm (Newton Meters) @ revolutions per minute
Torque to weight (Nm/100Kg)Newton meters divided by weight, per 100 kilograms. It started without the 100 kg bit, but we got fractions and it sounds easier to imagine the HP that could carry 100 kg instead of 1 kg.
TransmissionNumber of gears, clutch type, final drive (what drives the rear wheel).
Fuel CapacityTotal liters in the tank
LengthUsually, total length from front tire to license plate holder, but not always. We use other measurements, like wheelbase, to find out if something is included or not.
WidthMaybe from mirror to mirror, or tips of the handlebars, who knows? When a manufacturer discloses how it’s measured, it’s in there.
HeightMaybe up to the mirrors, top of the handlebars or windscreen. When a manufacturer discloses how it’s measured, it’s in there.
Weight– “Wet” is total weight in running order (full tank or 90% or something else). Sometimes we have to estimate it since the manufacturer didn’t list the wet weight.
– Max load: maximum carrying capacity rated by the manufacturer. Usually includes rider, passenger, luggage and accessories.
Seat HeightHarley has this measurement for laden and unladen. This is a difficult one since suspension plays a part, but rider weight does too, and who knows how they measure it.
Suspension– Front: fork legs diameter, type of fork, features, wheel travel in millimeters.
– Rear: type of shock(s), wheel travel in millimeters.
Tyres150/80-16: tire width in centimeters / sidewall height as a percentage of width – wheel diameter
Brakes– Drum or disc diameter, type of calipers
– If ABS (Anti-Lock Braking system) is available and other details or additional features.
InstrumentsSometimes we can only write the information we see in the picture, since the manufacturers often don’t list what’s in there.
OtherLights, safety features, riding aids, accessories, etc.

This table should be updated with more information and if something changes and if something isn’t clear or if you have any suggestion, please get in touch!

For instance, power/torque to weight was added in 2023 and right now (June 2024) we started adding the “Max load” info for every bike we can.
